On Friday, November 21st, the 15th edition of the Bulgarian higher education ranking for 2025 was released. Graduates in fields such as Informatics and Computer Sciences, Military Affairs, and Electrical Engineering are expected to secure the highest average taxable incomes. Specifically, master’s degree holders in Administration and Management at the American University, Informatics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” and Electrical Engineering at New Bulgarian University earn monthly averages ranging from 7,000 BGN to over 10,000 BGN.
Among bachelor’s degrees, graduates in Informatics and Computer Sciences at Sofia University report the highest salaries, with averages exceeding 7,000 BGN. Other high-paying fields include National Security, Communication and Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Metallurgy, Public Health, Energy, and Medicine, with incomes ranging from 3,300 BGN to 4,700 BGN.
The universities themselves play a significant role in determining graduates’ earnings. Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” leads the rankings in 22 professional fields. The Technical University of Sofia excels in engineering disciplines, ranking first in six areas, while the Medical University of Sofia is at the forefront in all medical fields of training.
Student enrollment preferences also reflect economic trends. The most popular fields among students in 2025 are Economics, Pedagogy, Medicine, and Administration and Management. This aligns with labor market demands for skills in finance, education, healthcare, and business leadership.
